I love going to the beach in the Summer. My family is preparing to depart on Saturday for our annual trip to Bethany Beach. There's just something about the smell of the salt air, how it just happens to hang there in the air. There is also something to be said for the feel of the sand beneath your feet, nothing on earth can equal it. I don't know about anyone else but there is also this sense of reliving my childhood whenever we venture on the family vacation every year. For a couple of days I'm about 8 again walking the boardwalk with my parents dashing ahead to check out the newest cheap t-shirts hanging out for tourists to buy. Unfortunately though, all good things come to an end and it's back to reality for me on Tuesday. Back to the 2 jobs and the car payment, and the rent, and the endless feeling that I'm spinning my wheels going no where.

Found out that my friend Brent and his wife Alicia are back in the U.S. They were on their 1st Peace Corps assignment to Papua New Guinea and had to leave the area, as that part of the world isn't exactly politically stable. It's great to have them home for a little bit at least. Now they are in Texas visiting Brent's brother's and sister and their new babies. As far as I know they were planning to come visit back in the old hometown in a couple of weeks. Hopefully I will be back from trip #2 to the beach so I can see them before they head out again.

Still freaking out a little bit about this whole Penn State thing. I mean, I want to do a good job on it but I'm afraid I'll bring down the quality of the whole thing with my section. Ugh, the pressure!

While I have the floor, I'd like to take a moment to vent. Can I tell you how much it sucks to listen to my room mate talk about this guy she's seeing (who lives 2 hours away I might add) all the time?! God, I'm glad she's happy but when you're single and that's all you hear day in and day out you just want to go freaking nuts. Sigh, guess maybe I'm a little jealous, it has been way too long since I've been involved in anything even remotely resembling a relationship. Honestly though, there isn't any one guy I can think of right now that makes the old heart go racing and make me want to actually settle down for once in my life . Who knows, maybe I'll meet some one when I go to Nads Head. Yeah right, and Boy George will make the comeback of the year.

Lots to do before deadline. Fun.
