It's finally happened. I have a friend with a kid. My good buddy Lyzz had a baby boy, Brendan, this past Thursday and I am freaking out. I am not old enough to have friends with kids! Ugh! Now I really do feel like I'm in my late 20's. Sigh. Guess it was inevitable. Then again, we did a special section about a week or 2 ago on life in your 20's and there was a piece on having a "quarterlife crisis". It was actually kind of creepy because a lot of what was described (feeling like you're not living up to your potential, thinking you should be acting a lot older than what you are, etc.) applied to me. So I guess that's what this is, my quarterlife crisis. God, if I told that to my parents and their friends they'd laugh their butts off.
Fourth was pretty good. Drove to my friend Tracy's place in Annapolis (can you tell I love that town?) and we took the Metro into D.C. Granted it poured for most of the time we were there, but we had a blast. Made some new friends, "borrowed" some one's tarp, got soaked, out smarted the tourists, and just talked and hung out. The rain did stop for the 30-45 minutes of the fireworks which rocked. Next year, I'm definitely going to New York.
Got injured yesterday. We were playing a softball game against that other paper down the block and I managed to get hit hard in the arm with a ball. It's really nobody's fault, if I would have actually held onto the ball we would have gotten the out. Oh well, story of my life. So close yet so far.
Besides that, things are pretty calm right now. I know I'm going to regret saying that, but they are. There's nothing planned for this weekend and it looks like I might be able to, no not this, SLEEP IN on Saturday. Oh the horror! What will this world come to?! Sigh, I remember a time when I lived for a busy weekend full of parties at the AXP house, house parties, happy hour. Now I live for the weekends where I can sleep in or if I have to be up early take a nap in the afternoon, maybe do some cleaning around the apartment or catch up on my bill paying. Yep, scary how much your priorities change once you're out of college.
So, I've got some stuff to do. If you want a good blogger to read check out my friend Chris's page at http://chrisyaz.blogspot.com. He has a pretty funny retelling of his kite attacking a kid in the park. Made me laugh out loud because I can just picture the whole thing happening. Giggle.
Adios mis amigos y amigas
