Very black day for this country. When I found out about the attack this morning the first thing I did was call my friend Leslie who lives in Hoboken but works in Manhattan. She was o.k., managed to catch the last Path train out of NY but she was still waiting to hear something about one of her roommates that was presumably still stuck in Uptown. So far I've heard that most of the people I know up in N.Y. are in one piece, still waiting to hear about my one friend's brother who works and lives in the financial district. Scary.
