Sorry for the lag in the posting to the old blog. As previously noted, I was out of town for a couple of days. Ahhh, to be away and not have to bother with work, my family, the roomate, etc. It was a wonderful two days of absolute relaxation and me doing whatever the hell I wanted. If you get the chance, I strongly encourage a trip to Cooperstown and the surrounding area. The town is absolutely adorable and if you are not into baseball, there are still plenty of other things to do like the Fenimore Art Museum, the Farmers Museum and the National Soccer Hall of Fame is only 25 minutes away. Several good breweries such as Brewery Ommegang and Cooperstown Brewing Co. I didn't have time to get to the Ommegang brewery but I did sample some of the Cooperstown beer called Old Slugger. Very good stuff. A little hoppy but very good. No Yuengling Lager though. Baseball Hall of Fame rocked. Glad I finally got to see it.
I had intentions of calling in sick tomorrow morning to hook out and go see the O's play. However, my conscience has gotten the better of me (I know, those of you who know me are asking when has that ever stopped me before?) and I am not going to call in sick, but I'm still going to go down and catch the game (it's a 7:05 start). The whole point of my calling off tomorrow was to say screw you to my boss and the other person I work with here, but since neither of them will be here, what's the point. I'll do it on a random day in the next couple of weeks. Because trust me, nothing would please me more than to say screw you to this place.
A bunch of my high school friends and I are going camping at Leslie's cabin in Caledonia. I can't wait. We always have a good time and when we all get together we always seem to revert to our high school selves. Besides, I don't get to see these guys very much (not counting Bob who I pretty much talk to on a daily basis) and I never give up the chance to spend time with them. Leslie and Bob want to go play golf on Saturday and since I play like a hockey player (can you say hacker?) I get to drive the cart and be the beer bitch. Don't know if Anne plays. She can ride along and keep me company.
Anyway, I am in the process of starting the new blog where my short (now turning long) story will appear. One good thing about the little mini vacation was that I got a lot of writing done over those two days. Don't have a name for the darn thing yet, but hopefully I'll be able to get that to you soon.
Gotta run, the hordes are arriving and I should at least look like I'm doing some work.
