I'm trying to get two stories written at once. Not a very easy thing to do. Well, one really isn't a story. We've been running small features on the front of the paper about local servicemen serving in Iraq. It's my job to call and confirm information and write up a little bit about them. The hard part is getting in touch with people. I am also in the middle of doing an obit story. I have spoken to the family, but can't get in touch with another source. It's always good to have more than one source. My story is not going to be that long, but I need to have that other voice in there.
Tomorrow is the day. I'm ready to do this plan. I did go a little overboard this weekend (ie: the ice cream I had Saturday with the hamburger, chips, dip and macaroni salad from a picnic Saturday night). Starting tomorrow though, I promise to keep my calorie total between 12-1400. I want to keep it closer to the 1200 end. Still need to go get the book Diet Chick recommended. I almost picked up a calorie counting book at the book nook yesterday. It was from 1991 so I decided against it and purchased Joyce Carol Oates' We Were The Mulvaneys. Looks interesting, besides I was forced to write an obit story about her back when I took my journalism class at York College. LOL, I'd be so money in that class now.
Had a pleasant surprise today. My friend Peg from New York stopped by work. She was in the area with her new boyfriend. Peg is great. We always have fun and get in trouble when we go out. She works at the New York Daily News, lives in Queens and lives a very glamerous New York kind of lifestyle. I miss having her around here.
The search for a dress for next weekend was successful. I purchased a nice red number that shows off my best assets (my cleavage) and hides the flawed ones (everywhere else). I'll also get to show off my red fish tatoo as the dress has tank top like straps. I think I look good in it. Only problem stems from the fact that since I am in between sizes, there is some major gapage around the chest area. Sigh. Can't have it all I guess. One advantage to my new status at the wedding, as Room mate Marti pointed out, I'll be in a prime position to check out any incoming potential single hotties. Woo-hoo! Even better, Casey told me there will be a shuttle running from the hotel to the wedding/reception place. Can you say OPEN BAR! Yee-ha! Oops, you know what, I can't get too lit up. My parental units will be there and I need to keep track of those calories. Alcohol is so loaded with the little buggers. Bummer.
Better get moving. My story isn't going to write itself.
