Sunburn sucks. I am hitting the itchy scratchy gross peely skin point of my vacation sunburn. Blech. No amount of aloe could stop it, I just have to live with the consequences and find that freaking back scratcher again...ahhhhh...better.
With the exception of the sunburn today was a happy day. Nothing in particular made it happy, it just was. I actually walked around work with a smile on my face today. No, NOT THAT! lol, yep. I'm sure next week I won't be so smiley as co-worker Jill is going to be away all week and I'll be left alone with the hottie newbie...um, never mind. Next week could be pretty good after all. Heh.
Thoroughly enjoyed Charlie's Angels 2. As long as a moviegoer does not go into the movie expecting a major cinematic masterpiece a la Gone With The Wind (all time favorite movie by the way) it can be a good diversion for 90 minutes. It was a perfect time for me to let my brain turn to mush and watch some strong women kicking butt in some of the coolest shoes I have ever seen. Bob was content just to sit there and drool the whole time. So there you go. Something for the whole family!
Very excited for my weekend. Tomorrow night my hockey team mates and I are going to a Mary Kay party and then out for some beers. Those girls are the best. We always have a blast no matter where we're hanging out. That is part of the reason I'm so bummed about the team probably folding. Sigh. I don't think I mentioned that before. Tuesday night I got an email from one of our captains, Jonda. Looks like not enough people are going to be able to commit for the upcoming season so we won't be able to hold together a team. Jonda, Kim, Jeanine and I will probably go play for Lancaster. They've told us we are welcome at tryouts on Tuesday. Should be interesting since I'll be back on my skates for the first time in a month this Sunday. I hope I can hold my own. Those girls are good. We actually played them back in January and I think March. Here's the picture from January (if the link didn't take you to the picture click on Fun Stuff). You can't tell but that's me on the left hand side third one in kneeling (you can just see my head behind the girl with the dark hair). Jonda and I talked about the situation tonight. As long as we get to play we don't care who it is with.
Been thinking about traveling some more. Bob and I are definitely going to Williamsburg in October but I want to go somewhere else too. The idea of going to visit my friend Dave in New York is gaining momentum in my brain. I'm not going to get a birthday trip this year (stupid 10 year reunion) so a short trip up and back on the train would be perfect. Hmmm. Have to remember to say something to Dave the next time I talk to him.
I love New York. I could live there, no problem at all.
On a completely different note, I would so go see this movie. Most importantly, who would play Roscoe P. Coltrain?
