What a nice weekend. It was quiet and for once in my life relaxing. Nice. Very nice. Yesterday I had an eye doctor's appointment so I could get some new contacts. Turns out the perscription in my glasses was off too. So while I was there I picked out some new frames. I must say they look pretty darn good. Saturday night we had a hockey game at home. We lost, 4-0. I thought we played pretty well and I know I got some good shots (read, checks) in on the other team. Tee-hee. After the game I went to Red Lobster for dinner. Very good, but oh so bad for you. Bob wanted to get together after he got off work but I was so tired I fell asleep on the couch waiting for him to call back. Just goes to show you, the older I get the less I can hang.

There will be another game next Saturday so hopefully we can turn it around for that. Unfortunately I'm going to have to miss practice this week to cover a story for job #2. I hate to miss hockey like that but this writing gig is something I want to do all of the time and the more stories I get to cover the better.

Speaking of, I got to break a news story today! Yeah! Go me! Actually it was all a matter of my being in the right place at the right time. And all of the full time people being out on other stories. Hey, you have to take what you can get right? The story got rolling when we were called by one of the people running for schoolboard. Some slate cards were passed out Saturday in the city missing her name and the name of another candidate. Very interesting considering election day is only two days away. It should run here tomorrow in the local section. Right now I'm waiting (as usual) for a phone call back from one of the left out. Hopefully he'll call back soon. I want to go home.

Yesterday I was supposed to start my NaNoWriMo story. Notice I said supposed to. Not having my own computer really sucks. Not to mention makes me look like a total loser so forget that last sentence, o.k.? Hopefully I'll get some writing time in tomorrow night in between taking box scores.
