14 hours. It took us bloody 14 hours to get home yesterday from Toronto. I thought I was never going to see the inside of my apartment again! I guess that is what you get when you travel to Canada in the middle of winter.

All in all though the trip was a blast! Toronto is a very cool city. We got to the hotel Friday night just in time to change clothes, freshen up and high tail it over to the theater for the 8 p.m. production of Mama Mia!. The musical was amazing! It has ABBA songs woven into the plot. I was singing along the whole time. Actually, the plot was very good too so it held your interest. If anyone gets the chance, go see it. You won't regret it. After the show we were all starving marvins so we headed to the nearest italian restaurant, Il Fortello (I may be wrong on that name). So yummy. So very yummy. We popped over to the Elephant & Castle right next door and the first thing I saw on the bee menu was may all time favorite. The nectar of the gods, Smithwick's. Mmmm....Smithwick's. It is brewed by Guinness and from what I can tell is not available in the U.S. Oh, but they have it in Canada! I wa so excited I ordered a pint. On top of the chocolate martini's I had at Il Fortello. Let's just say on the walk home I was not feeling the 18 degree weather.

Saturday was spent walking around and shopping. Boy did we ever walk around. We left the hotel around 11 a.m. and didn't come back until close to 6 p.m.! Toronto is so big we didn't hit nearly everything we could have. I didn't get to the Hockey Hall of Fame like I wanted to, so that just means I'll have to go back. In the summer time preferabley. We went out for dinner then out to some of the bars/clubs. I only lasted a trip to Milano where I watched Hockey Night in Canada (gotta love a country so involved in a sport the highest rated tv show revolves around it) and drank Molson Canadian like it was water. From there we went to Government for a grand total of 15 minutes (10 in line and 5 to decide we didn't want to stay). Too raveish. By this time it was close to 2 a.m. and we wanted to get moving early Sunday morning so Lori and I hopped a cab back to the hotel.

Yesterday we got ourselves moving out the door by 10. Funniest thing happened to me in the elevator. A couple got on the elevator with Room mate Marti, Elena and I and started up a conversation. The gentleman looked at me and asked if I was in Mama Mia!. He thought I was the lead character. I just kind of chuckled and said no, but we saw it. The only similarities we have are hair color/style and height. That's about it.

The trip home was so painful I choose not to relive it. If you want details drop me a line. Otherwise just know it was the longest freaking day of my life.
