Today was such a Monday. Returning from a long holiday is way tough. It took all of my self control not to throw my alarm clock across the room when it went off the first time. Still, I managed to drag myself out of bed and leave time for a little Rickie Lake style dysfunction before I left for work. Lol, nothing like watching a little trash talk show to put it all in perspective.
Sunday rocked. Not only was it my birthday (ahem, still waiting for presents) but I had the mother of all presents in my getting to play at the Giant Center before the Bears' game. Holy cow, talk about an experience. I was so pumped before the game I nearly tossed my cookies in the incredibley clean locker room. Talk about the fastest 1-1/2 hour of my life. The only thing better would have been if Colin Farrell showed up at my apartment wearing nothing but the Irish flag. I'm getting excited just thinking about it...
My poor sister spent some time in the hospital. She's having a reoccurance of kidney stones. The darn buggers are hereditary and unfortunately we both inherited the ability to have them. Just another wonderful genetic gift from my dad's side of the family. I stopped at my mom's today and she was laying on the couch in pain waiting for them to pass. I want to curl up in a ball and die just thinking about it. If she's lucky, they'll go through overnight. If not, well, thank god for percocet.
Whether she realizes it or not, Alex the girl has been posting some very inspirational things on her site lately. At least, what she has been writing is speaking to me. Just a sample from a posting from November 12...
"I think everyone of us has something we want to do, to be, but have held back because of someone saying we couldn't. I say, prove to them, to yourself you can."
I stumbled on this blog at the beginning of the year. I'm glad I did.
