And the award for best new addiction goes too... Posted by Hello

Fuze. Yes folks, these lovely little beauties are not only just 10 calories per serving (2 servings per bottle) but also are low carb (GASP, GET OUT!) and 0 points for all you Weight Watcher types out there. Incredible! Now I sound like an infomercial. Jeez. Seriously though, good stuff people. In my attempt to detox from the coffee I picked up the cranberry/raspberry combo for breakfast at Sheetz the other day. I found it to be very refreshing and satisfying. I'm sure the good folks at Fuze will be given a lot more of my money before this whole detox thing is through.

Sorry I didn't get around to it yesterday but for those of you interested, George, here's a little bedtime story about the origins of my name...

Long long ago, o.k. only seven years ago, in a town right smack dab in the middle of South Central Pennsylvania there was a girl who graduated from college with a History degree and no direction in life. She left the comfy and safe confines of her alma mater for the comfy and slightly off center confines of her hometown to find her way in the world.

After three months of searching she became desparate and took a job at Wal-Mart. Eight months later after her hours were cut, her car payment was late and there was no hope in sight of getting more hours at work she began searching for a second part-time job. Lo and behold one day as the girl was perusing the help wanted ads she found one advertising an opening in the sports department of her local morning newspaper. Figuring she liked sports and well, since she spent most of her college career busy typing useless papers she decided to apply. A very easy sports quiz and a typing test later, she was introduced to the whirlwind, glitz and glamour of the newspaper biz. Or at least the whirlwind.

The first few months were hard for the girl. She learned new words such as deadline, agate, aghead, spag and tab commands. Soon though she was able to take a baseball box from a drunk with the best of them or layout a page like a pro. One night while at work she was busily getting the agate (boxes, standings, results, etc. that run daily on the Scoreboard page for those of you not in the know) when a conversation was started with her friend and dear co-worker Wayne. A comment was made about her other co-worker Lyzz being a beer goddess. Wayne looked at the girl and commented that she may not be a beer goddess but she was definitely an agategoddess.

And hence the name came to be that has carried on for the past half decade plus two. While the girl no longer works with agate, she is still known as the one, the only, Agategoddess.
