Jeez, what a Gloomy Gertrude I was this morning. Blame it on a combination of the gray skies I awoke to and PMS if you want. Either one gets me down just as much as the other. Besides, I can't be expected to be a little Sunshine Mary 24 hours of the day. No one is that happy all of the time.

The closer we get to the election the more I find myself getting into political arguments with people who have no clue about anything. Prime example, last week we got into a discussion at the Lobster about who was going to vote for which candidate. One of my co-workers made the statement that she wasn't comfortable about switching presidents in the middle of a war and as far as she knew it has never been done. Wrong thing to say to a history major. I rattled off a long list of mid-war switches ie: Nixon during Vietnam, Truman during WWII and Andrew Jackson during the Civil War. Sure the last two came in after assassinations but still, there was a presidential change in the middle of a national crisis. From the looks of things we're still around, right. After I rattled off those little historical tidbits I walked away. If you don't know what you're talking about then shut the hell up.

If only all Republicans would take that advice to heart.

During the course of my day, as I perusing the internet, I found this article to be a little disturbing. As a journalist...o.k., wannabe journalist, the whole thing is something I'm going to keep a close eye on.

In any event, yesterday was a good day food wise. Today, was, eh, well, all right. I could have done worse, I could have done better. The exercise has been nonexistant. Bad, I know, I know. And there really is no excuse for me not to be doing anything. Sigh. It's just a matter of willpower and there are somethings (and people for that matter) I can't resist. No matter how hard I try.
