What a great weekend. Saturday and Sunday I spent with my good friend Erin, her husband Tim and their adorable son, Addyson. But I'm not biased or anything. Jeez. I can't believe the little big man is two years old tomorrow! Good Lord how time flies when you're not looking. We basically just hung out at their home in Harleysville (just outside of Philly), played in the neighborhood and then the grand even on Sunday...a trip to the Philadelphia Zoo. I don't know about Addyson but I sure as heck had a good time. We played with the bunnies, fed some goats and sheep and rode the train! O.k., Addyson rode the train but he was having such a good time doing that it that the laughter spread like a virus in a day care. I've never laughed so hard or smiled so much. It was nice.
It's funny. I have some friends who have gotten married, had kids and drifted away. Life does that. We may still keep in touch occasionaly but beyond that, I don't talk to them anymore. Erin though, I don't know, our friendship is different. We can go months and months without talking then get together and pick up right where we left off. Although we're both at very different stages in our lives we still have that connection. And God bless her, she's still so optimistic about me finding Mr. Right. Lol. At least one of us is.
Yesterday I finally broke down and got the heavy coat out. We're hitting low 40s in the morning now and only getting into the 60s during the day so it was time. That is just fine with me, I love fall and winter. More layers to hide my big butt. With a little more determination and some commit...comm..commitmen...the C word, I am going to get back on the wagon again. Start running again. Be more careful about my food choices (which I haven't been) and be just plain healthier.
One obstacle is down, the daily coffee has stoppe and you know what, I already feel the better for it. I rock.
