How NOT to start your morning:
1. Wake up at 7 a.m. when must be at work by 7:30 a.m.
2. Forget several things in bedroom and run up and down steep steps about four times (I'm convinced this counts toward my exercise for today).
3. Fall down steps on last trip down landing sprawled out at the bottom with room mate trying not to laugh and acting concerned at the top.
4. Get huge bruise on left butt cheek.
5. Pray to the traffic light gods all lights will be green on the way to work.
6. Arrive only 5 minutes late.
As I was laying at the bottom of the steps in a heap of last minute clothes and wet hair I thought, well, that does it, my life can not get any more rediculous than this. But I know better.
It can.
Last night I finally bit the bullet and managed to get my shopping finished. The room mate went out shopping too but when I suggested we do our shopping together (I consider it a team sport) he firmly told me N-O because he was going to pick up my gift and I wasn't allowed to see where he was going. Humph. After a small dinner of three cheese tortellini with homemade tomato sauce and an episode of Laguna Beach I finally set out. Oddly enough, the mall wasn't that packed and I was in and out of there in about an hour. Sweet. Next stops were Target and Kohls. Kohls took a grand total of 15 minutes. Then Target happened. Oye. Can you say holy mass chaos Batman? Since my sister refused to give me any ideas this year other than the purse she so badly wants from Posy I was forced to improvise. Considering I had no clue whatsoever about what to get the bro-in-law I think I did very well. It's really the thought that counts, right?
The room mate and I had decided pre-shopping to meet up after we finished at the Lobster for some drinks. He arrived first. I showed up about 20 minutes later. One Tokyo Tea (think Long Island Ice Tea with Midori) and a free Mich Ultra later (it's good to have the bartenders as friends) I was feeling much better about my choices and new lack of dinero. Friend Leslie, back in town after the end of her first semester of law school, tore herself away from her fam to join us for a drink and some much needed but slightly censored updating (didn't talk about Him since he was working or the fam situation). We'll get into the real updating tonight.
The next few days promise to be very busy. I'm working both jobs the next three out of four days (not Christmas day though) and there are many parties to make appearances at in between.
If I can just make it through to Chad & Jen's New Year's Eve party, I'll be golden.
