All's quiet on the homefront
After the debauchery of yesterday, I am spending tonight enjoying the peace and quiet of an empty house. The room mate is at work and it's just the dog and I. Theoretically I should be cleaning the bathroom, but I think that's going to wait.
Continuing from yesterday, I managed to nap for about 3 hours. Haven't done that in a long time. Once the room mate, the soon to be room mate and the soon to be's girlfriend woke up from their naps, we all got ready for a night out. The Harp & Fiddle was packed to capacity, so we ended up where we started the day for dinner at Cobblestones. It was busy but not too bad. By the time we left there it was getting late so we hit one of the newer bars downtown, Market Street Saloon where we had a freaking great time. They had in a comedy pair whose name is escaping me right now, but they were so funny I nearly peed myself. I also had weird experience #1 of the night happen there. A group of guys were sitting at a table behind us (we were at the bar) and one of them took the microphone and told the whole bar he thought I was hot! Yeah right. Can you say drunken idiot?
But I digress.
The group grew a little bit at the Saloon when some more friends from work joined us. Eventually we made our way over to Jamie's to finish off the night. The room mate was pretty drunk, which made for some good laughs at his expense. Weird experience #2 happened while we were here. I ran into a waitress I once had at Eat & Park who brough me "blue cheese" dressing for my bagel instead of cream cheese. Yeah. It's been a big inside joke between the room mate and myself but as soon as I heard her voice I knew it was her. I thought I was going to die of laughter. Woo...I'm getting teary just thinking about it!
We discussed the possibility of going out for breakfast, but everyone was too tired so we parted ways at 2:45 a.m. and my head finally hit the pillow at 3 a.m.
All in all a good St. Patrick's day. No pictures from this one, I forgot my camera and well, some of the things that went on are just better off not having photographic evidence. Capice?
My day today was slightly more subdued. I rolled out of bed around 10:30 a.m. Took a nice leisurely shower. Watched some CNN Headline News and had a nice visit over lunch with a former coworker from the evil former full time job. As much as I miss some of the people there, I will never go back to working at that place. NEVER. A trip to the gym (twice in one week!) rounded out my day.
So now I'm slipping into my jammies, getting my new book and counting down to my Dukies' first tournament game of the 2005 NCAA's. I love nights like this. Too bad they're few and far between.
