And you arrrreeee....
Dinner went well last night. As it turns out, it only took me an hour to get to the cabin. Not that it mattered. I was enjoying the bright blue sky and new fields of sweet corn popping through the soil. Yum.
Because I had arrived so early, Leslie and Geoff were not finished with their round of golf. The Rice Paddy sits just off of a local golf course and they decided to do nine holes before I got there. Leslie had offered to wait and I could play with them, but I have enough frustration in my life. I don't need to intentionally make my blood pressure go up.
I had only been waiting 10 minutes before Leslie pulled in. We exchanged hugs and hello's, poured some wine and retired to the front porch. Turns out Geoff was looking for his 9 iron. Apparently someone gets a little competative and managed to "lose" it around the 2nd or 3rd tee. After about 30 minutes of looking he gave up and joined us.
Not to sound slightly green or anything, but god is Leslie lucky! And proving once more that in order to find a good man I'm going to have to get the hell out of South Central Pennsyltucky.
Geoff is funny, intellegent and well, just a great guy. Anyone who can quote back Monty Python to me only 15 minutes after our initial meeting, gets the seal of approval. Honest to god, I don't know how she does it. O.k. I take that back. I do know. See Leslie is one of those girls who is so skinny (I get excited phone calls when her scale reads over 100lbs.) and confident, guys flock to her. She's pretty and if I were a guy I'm sure I'd be attracted to her too.
Dinner went well. We grilled chicken while Geoff regaled me with stories of where he grew up in New Jersey and Leslie and I caught each other up on the gossip of our mutual friends. I left the cabin around 9ish with a full belly and happy heart. Seeing my friends is always a good remedy for the blues.
And I've been a little down lately. I'm chalking it up to PMS but it comes and goes. Sometimes I just have too much time to think and I start thinking about my life and the total lack of direction I have. Not exactly an admireable trait in a 29 year old college graduate. This weekend I'm heading up to Hersheypark to spend the day with my old college buddies. Chad and his wife Jen are going to, so I guess I get to play third wheel for the day. Eh. At least I'll be surrounded by chocolate.
