Had the most wonderful weekend. The trip to Leslie's parents cabin was just what the doctor ordered. After the relatively stressless hour drive from work to the cabin, Bob, Leslie and I hung out until Anne arrived and we could go to dinner. What a dinner! There is a little place right on the main route through Caledonia called Pat A's Pub and Grill. If you ever find yourself between Gettysburg and Chambersburg on Route 30 west in PA, stop in. It will be worth it. The food is amazing and the beer list, is well, very expansive. Talk about your glutonous evenings! I honestly think my body was convinced I was going to die the next day because of all of the food I ate. Because we finished at Pat A's so late, we just went back to the cabin and sat around and talked until we couldn't keep our eyes open anymore.
Saturday started with a run around the golf course across the road from the cabin. And yes, I did actually run most of the way. When we were done polishing off Bob's breakfast, we all changed and went to Fuller Lake for the afternoon. A perfect day to hang out and catch some sun. Also got a round of 9 holes in at the golf course. Actually, Anne and I drove the carts and drank beer. Bob and Leslie tried to play golf. I think Anee and I had the better of the deal. That night we cooked out and had a birthday cake for Anne. Slowly but surely we're all turning 27. Sigh, 3 more months and it will be my turn. Ugh. Thirty gets a little closer every day and I'm not liking it.
Sunday we hiked part of the Appalachian Trail in the park. Of course, we picked the small section that was pretty much straight up. I am not that out of shape but I was dieing by the time we got to the top of the hill. Needless to say we were not smelling too great until we got back to the cabin. It was a good time though, just being with my old friends is always enough to make me feel better. They all rock. Not to put down my more recent friends but these guys have been with me through EVERYTHING and they are the closest thing I have to family outside of my dysfunctional one.
Good times. Good times.
