Merry Christmas! So I am a day early. This is always one of my favorite times of the year. Behind St. Patrick's day of course. I love the way my church is decorated with candles and wreaths, the excitement of waiting for Santa Claus still keeps me up all night (like I said before, 27 going on 7) and just the idea of waking up in the morning and opening presents never fails to get me out of bed at 7 a.m. o.k, make that 9 a.m. Granted this holiday season has not always been the best for my family (this was the time of year my dad left the first time) but I still love it. I think another part of the reason is the idea that while another year is ending, the potential for starting over again begins at 12:01 a.m. on Jan. 1.

But enough of the sappy crap, let's talk about what this season is really about. College football baby. Oh yeah. Best part is it has already started. Caught a little bit of Texas Tech's 55-15 pounding of Clemson last night. Not that bad but I hate to watch a game that is not even close. It gets boring and then you have to find something else to do, like watch Bridget Jones' Diary. Penn State plays on New Year' s Day. Shoud be an interesting game. Auburn has one of the top 50 ranked rush defenses in the country and Penn State has, well, Larry Johnson. Need I say more? I just hope Mills can handle the pressure. The kid has done pretty well this season but we're just going to have to wait and see. I will probably still be nursing a hangover on my couch, as long as the announcers don't yell too much it will be a great time.

No big plans for New Year's Eve just yet. Something is brewing with Kristen, Lena, Brent, Bob and Marti. There has been talk about an excursion to Harrisburg. I just heard this morning that Green Eggs and Spam are playing at Wanda's as well. I would like to go see them again. Very good cover band I happened to catch one summer at the Bottle & Cork in Dewey Beach. Who knows. I just want to go out and have fun. Like Brent said "I would just be happy going somewhere and getting ripped". Couldn't have put it better myself.

Have a very happy holiday!
