In years past by this time in the day I would be drowning my sorrows in a pint of Ben & Jerry's (Super N.Y. Chunk, of course), watching my all time favorite movie Gone With The Wind and wondering why in God's name I am still single. Granted, last year was slightly different as I actually got dressed up and went out. O.k., it was with Bob but it still counts, right? We had a blast. I wore my sequiny (is that a word) red Marilyn Monroe type dress and Bob dressed up in a suite. We traveled down to Towson for some food at one of my favorite restaurants, Macaroni Grill and just had a fun time. No pressure. No expectations. Just fun. Sigh. This year I'm stitting at work. For a Friday night it is slow. Beats sitting at home with my mopey room mate and being forced to think about my current lack of male companionship. Blah.

Think I might pull out my new book. Before the trip to Ireland I ran to Borders for a new bit to read on the plane. Was pleasantly surprised to see my favorite author, John Jakes has a new novel out, Charleston. The man is absolutely amazing. I started reading his books in the 9th grade when my Aunt Diane gave me a copy of the first in the Kent Family Chronicles series The Bastard. I was immediately hooked. Not only have I read every book he has ever written, but I've read a couple of them several times. I can't remember how many times I've read through California Dreams. If you like historical fiction, then you definitely need to check out John Jakes' books. It just thoroughly amazes me how he weaves the historical events and people with his characters. Just brilliant.

Changed the hair again. I made reference to it earlier today but realized I didn't say what I did. Went back to red. Very red. More red than I've been in the past. I like it. For some reason I feel bolder as a red head. Changing my hair is the way I shake things up when the moment calls for it. Lately I've been feeling like I'm in a funk so I went and did it. There have also been some contemplations about a new tatoo. I kind of like this one on the left, only smaller and on one of my ankles. I would actually like something along the same lines as the Celtic knot I already have on the inside of my left ankle. All three of my tatoos were done at the same place and if it was not so far away I would go back. Guess I'll have to find somewhere closer to home.

Better make myself look productive. Thank God I've got Virgin Radio to listen to. I'd be climbing the walls right about now if I couldn't listen to some half decent music.
