Interesting. While I was not shocked to hear the verdict in the Witman case, I was a little surprised by the sentence. Life in prison. At age 20. Granted, give it about 20 years and the kid will probably be paroled but still. Wow. That's a long time for someone so young. On the other hand if he did kill his brother, which I believe he did, Zach Witman deserves to be put away. The evidence just adds up to it. Which is sad. Sure, I get mad at my sister. That's what siblings are for and we used to have knock down, drag out, hair pulling fights when we were younger. Now though, my sis and I get along better than I ever could have dreamed. We really are friends now. When she turns 21 next April, I'll be the first one to take her out. That's what older sister's are for.
Let me just tell you, there is nothing better than the sound of hockey pucks smacking the boards. It sounds like a shooting gallery. Last night we were practicing slap shots, wrist shots, flicks, etc. My wrist and forearms are paying for it this morning! Which is a good thing. Means I'm getting stronger, doing the motions correctly. My slap shot needs some work but I've got a mean wrist shot. My skating is improving too. Still need some work on the backwards part, put it's better. Our coaches are something else. They decided last night they need to find me a man. lol, I asked them when they grew boobs, they were acting like a bunch of girls! Coach John suggested Coach Steve and I go out. That's pretty laughable. Stevie and I have wayyyyy too much history. lol, we'd probably end up like when we were kids and he would say something to tick me off (that wonderful temper was evident even at the age of 4) and I'd haul off and smack him.
So Mr. Bush isn't quite as popular as before. Well duh. It's a well known political fact that wars will boost a president's approval rating. Now that we are essentially finished with Iraq, W's rating is going down. Surprise, surprise. People are getting back to what's going on in the country mainly the tanking economy. There have also been two major defections from the administration in the past week or so, Ari Fleischer and Christine Todd Whitman. Interesting. Could it be that no one wants to be around for W's second try at the presidency? Makes me wonder what's going on behind the scenes. God I love politics.
For anyone interested, the food journal will be updated later today. I didn't have time yesterday between work and hockey. Since tonight promises to be pretty slow at job #2 I'll get around to it then.
