There is a strange yellow light in the sky today. I'm not sure...but I think just maybe..yes, it is the sun! Woo-hoo! A sunny day at last. I heard a statistic yesterday that of the last 28 days, 21 of them have been rainy. How we can go from serious drought to too much is beyond me. This time last year there was talk of water restrictions. Now we talk about flooding. Kooky. Today I took advantage of the sunshine and took a run over lunch. My sinuses are extremely angry with me right now but they'll get over it.
I have discovered why it is recommended short people not wear capris. Yesterday in a moment of desperation I grabbed my new Old Navy khaki colored capris out of my closet for something to wear. Ditzy me, I expected them to hit me above the ankle. Maybe if I was over 5' tall. But I'm not. Sigh. They fell right on the top of my foot which was cause for a mixed bag of emotions. First I was happy I finally had a pair of pants I didn't have to roll up. That switched to a slight irritation that I can't clothing to fit me just right and then anger at the whole fashion industry for being discriminatory towards short people. My mind works in weird ways at 5 a.m.
Room mate Marti talked me into going out with her tomorrow night. I was actually looking forward to a quiet night in but I guess not. I did tell her I would drive, this way I can say when I want to leave and I have an excuse not to drink. Too many calories. Especially in the beer I love. I'm working too hard to blow it off like that. Today I'm pretty sore. Hockey was tough last night. My legs were so sore this morning I could hardly get out of bed. The run at lunch has helped but I'm still feeling the burn. I'm going to miss my hockey Wednesday's when we take July off.
Nothing like a little torture to perk up your day.
