Today I tried to do a carb detox. I lasted until dinner when I scarffed down a smoked turkey and cheese pretzel roll sandwich my mother had bought for me. Only in South Central Pennsylvania would a semi-healthy sandwich be turned into something not healthy at all. I also broke down and had some chocolate tonight. Sigh. Those cravings hit and I just have no control over them. Then again with facists in the world like these, I won't have to worry about it. The best part about that story is the headline the Sun came up with. I have visions of rogue Oreo's roaming the streets attacking unsuspecting children by jumping into their mouths. Kind of a Sharks/Jets deal. Scary how my mind works sometimes, huh? On the up side I did get a good 30 minute run complete with intervals in yesterday over my lunch. Caused several charlie horses later that evening but hey, it still felt good.
Had an interesting email today from my friend Casey, the one who is getting married Memorial Day weekend. He asked me to be the guest book/program attendent. Nothing like waiting until the last moment, huh? I of course told him I would do it. He is my little brother after all. Well, not really my little brother, but close enough. I am kind of dreading this wedding for numerous reasons. The main one being I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to reign in my emotions at the reception when I see the pictures of Casey, his brother Kevin and I. It's going to be Casey's big day and that is what I need to keep telling myself. Kevin is right there though. As he should be. That's part of the problem, Kev should be there that day. Not in pictures but physically there. Sigh, it's been almost 7 years since he died and I still miss him like the whole thing happened yesterday.
What the hell is going on in the ACC?! Good lord. Big East teams, in my ACC! Ack. Oh well, just more teams for my Dukies to whip up on. And they will whip up on them, oh yes, they will whip up on them...evil laughing...mwa ha ha ha ha....
