Here is the story I wrote for today. The more I do these newsy localizations the more I like them. Hard to believe but I'm enjoying them more than sports. Hm. Never thought I'd see the day.

Finally finished Squeeze Play last night. Freaking hilarious book. I totally recommend it to any female in the sports writing profession or any woman planning on becoming a sports writer. A lot of the troubles the main character has in the locker room are very believable. While I've never actually been acosted like she is, there have been moments where I darn well know I've lost my concentration (see the Brady Anderson incident from two years ago.) and tried to cover up the less than professional blush that creeps up my cheeks when I'm talking to a half naked football, soccer or baseball player. The job has its perks but talk about walking around on egg shells.

Haven't heard one whit from my parents. I'm not sure if that is good or bad. I'm hoping nothing happens while I'm away at Kelly's wedding this weekend. Speaking of, I still haven't heard from Steph whether she reserved a room or not for us to share. If I don't hear from her by Wednesday I'm going to just go ahead and get my own room. Less hassle that way.

Better get moving. We're hitting deadline crunch time and I told co-worker Mark I would compile his high school file for our Scoreboard page. I know, I know, doesn't get any more exciting than this right?
