Unfortunately tonight I needed to say good bye to my long weekend early. In a moment of forgetfulness I signed up to work tonight at job #2. So here I am. With nothing to do but read my new issue of Shape. It was so nice to sleep in today (9 a.m.) and not have a set schedule. Heck, I even managed to drag myself to the gym for some running and lifting. How about them apples? Granted, I did completely negate my hard work by indulging in some movie theater popcorn with Bob and Marti. Very bad, but very good. We saw American Wedding. It wasn't too bad, some funny parts but not as good as the first American Pie.
Friday was hectic. The first football Friday of the season. Wow. I always forget how much things get crazy around deadline until the season gets going again. We survived it pretty well but I was soooo tired Saturday morning. I didn't crawl into bed until 1 a.m. Blah. Luckily I was able to get a nap in before the Penn State game came on. Felt good. Very good. I miss naps. In college my room mates and I would take regular naps every afternoon from about 3 until dinner at 5. That was a hard habit to break after graduation.
We lost our hockey game again. Sigh. Part of the problem is the team I'm on is the only true rookie team. I was watching one of my team mates skate and his ankles were practically touching the ice. I felt bad for him because he is trying so hard to learn the game and do well. I guess I keep playing with them is because it's free ice time and fun. As long as I'm having fun I'll keep playing. When something loses its fun factor that is when it is time to split.
The Labor Day weekend marks the beginning of the campaign season moving into high gear. W's speech was on MSNBC today while I was at the gym working out. I listened to about .5 seconds before I got disgusted and put my headphones on. He just doesn't get it. The economy sucks and instead of doing something about it he's talking about creating another high level cabinet post to help the manufacturing sector. What a goober. One sign Dr. Dean is doing well, other Dems are starting to take potshots at him.
How can you not love this stuff?
