Today I am one pooped puppy. It was a struggle to drag my tired bones out of bed this morning. Yesterday my hockey team traveled to Happy Valley to play the Penn State Lady Icers. Oh yeah, we traveled two hours to get our butts handed to us is more like it. We got whupped 19-1, painful, painful. Part of the problem is the fact that we were there just to play and have fun. The college girls were playing the game like it was the gold medal match at the 2006 Olympics. Trust me, none of them were Cammie Granato. They may have had youth and extra practice on their side but that was about it. I got a few good shots in, a couple elbows were thrown, some shoulders were shoved and once I got my stick around one girl's skate and yanked hard. Tee-hee. God I love hockey.

On top of my sore muscles I walked a total of two miles today covering my town's annual Halloween Parade. It's been going on for a looooong time. My parents marched in it when they were in high school (they still do in an alumni band), my sister and I marched in it when we were in high school. At one point my family actually lived along the parade route. The whole thing turned into a big party with my family, both blood relations and non as well as our neighbor and her family. Kids ran in and out of both houses freely and if one bathroom was occupied you could walk a few feet next door and use that one. No biggie. We moved when my sister was born but our neighbor, Ethel (also a close friend of my grandma's), still has a shin-dig every year. I'm sure the whole crew was there eating and drinking the afternoon away. Unfortunately because of my work schedule it just wasn't in the cards for me this year.

I also have to give up my Halloween night festivities this year. We were short a clerk at job #2 that night so I said I'd take it. Dumb, dumb, dumb. Since I signed up for the extra shift I have been invited to about three different parties. Sigh. My only consolation is that I made my editor promise to let me dress up Friday night for work. Just need to find a costume now. Wonder if I can still fit into my red Marilyn Monroe dress....
