Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow! Woo-hoo! Tomorrow I leave for my last mini-vaca of the year...I am so excited I can hardly stand it. Today job #1 went by so quickly it was wonderful. My days usually drag me down like a wool coat thrown into a swimming pool. Heck, it's often just as smelly. Today was filled with hardly any phone calls and no bugging by my sales reps. Ahhhh, I needed this day. I need the vacation even more. No inane stories by my fellow customer service rep. No stupid questions from employees of Evil Empire #1 and Evil Empire #2. Most importantly, no filing or phone answering for 5 whole days. Life will be good. Only bummer is I am missing my first hockey game with The Blades. Oh well, there are a lot more between now and February.
There is only one part of this weekend I am dreading. Monday will be my parents 30th wedding anniversary. Heaven only knows how my mother is going to do that day. I have this overwhelming urge to turn off all of our phones at home plus my cell phone and run away. Very far away. Sigh. Then again, it could go well. For my sanity's sake I hope so. I guess it all depends on which version of my dad decides to show up. Like I have said before I just want this whole thing to be resolved one way or the other. We all need to just move on with our lives. I'm trying but I would be lying if I said the debacle of the last couple of years hasn't effected the way I look at relationships. I am more scared of the C word now than I ever was. Sigh. Someday I'll be able to let it go but right now things are just too close to the front of my mind.
It's the bottom of the fifth inning right now. I'm watching the Red Sox hang on to their three run lead by the skin of their teeth. All fingers are crossed and prayers are being sent up that the evil Yankees will be defeated. If their bullpen keeps on doing what they have been they should be able to do it. Beat the Yankees and make all right with the world again. There is one Yankee I do like, Mr. Mike Mussina . At one time he was an Oriole. The best pitcher they had. Then they traded him. Or he left more precisely. Gone. Buh-bye. I was lucky enough to interview him right before he left for the Big Apple. Very nice guy. He made me move to the front of the pack so I could see and hear him when he came out to talk to the gagle of reporters crowded around his spot in the clubhouse. I usually root for him when he's playing. But not tonight. No way Jose. Not against the Red Sox.
Now, since I'll be gone for a couple of days here's a quiz to keep you preoccupied...don't say I never give you anything....
Heineken. I am from Holland, ishn't that weird?
Yesh, yesh, you have a strong personal flavor
and some people just don't like you. People who
really know you realize that you are one of the
best.
Which Beer are you?
brought to you by Quizilla
**Sidebar - I actually am a huge fan of Yuengling Lager but since the person that made up this quiz has probably never had it, I'll take this. Could be worse. Could have come out with the Bud.
