What a wonderful day today is turning out to be! The sun is shining, the birds are singing and the Yankees are one game down in the ALCS. Doesn't get much better than that. I only caught bits and pieces of the game last night as Wednesday is my regular tv night and there was no way I missing Ed or West Wing. From what I did see and what I've read today, as long as the BoSox bullpen holds up beating the Stankees is a very real possibility. I have been wanting to get to Fenway for a game for a long time as it is. If the BoSox go all the way you can bet your bippy I'll be there next season.
While I'm on a roll sports wise has anyone seen this? LaVar Arrington is a pompus a**. I had the great misfortune of trying to interview him two seasons ago during the Redskins training camp at Dickinson College. My editor had already arranged for me to get 15 minutes with him after their afternoon practice but when they came off the field and I tried to talk to him he looked me up and down, answered in one word sentences (a writers worst nightmare) and ran off the field laughing when I asked him my last question. Bastard. I didn't use him in my story. Luckily the other guy I was there to talk to, a kicker whose name is escaping me right now but had the best six pack I have ever seen, was very nice and gave me a lot.
As tempting as it is, I'm not going to comment on Ahnold's new position in life. The only thing I'm going to say is thank god for Article II Secion 1 of the U.S. Constitution.
Yesterday was my dad's birthday. He didn't want anything done for it. No party or cake or anything. I was o.k. with that. For as much as he's been a pain in the butt the past couple of years he deserves to celebrate in whatever way he wishes. It's a tough day for him since my grandmother died last year (they shared a birthday). I called and wished him a happy birthday at the end of the day yesterday. My way of saying thanks for providing half of my genetic makeup.
For the past month or so I've been back on the weight loss bandwagon. I needed to. At one point I had put back over half of the 40lbs I had lost through L.A. Weightloss two years ago. Granted, it wasn't all of it but it still ticked me off. Some of my skinny clothes were not fitting and that was annoying the hell out of me. So I've been journaling my food again and making sure I get some form of exercise outside of hockey into my schedule. So far so good. After a slight gain last month I dropped 3.5lbs at last week's weigh in (every Friday). I sneaked a peek this morning and I'm down another pound. Hopefully that trend will continue. I want to have at least 10lbs gone by our reunion at the end of November.
Oh jeez. I didn't realize the time. Better make myself look busy before the big boss comes back through our department. He's a sneaky little son of gun.
