Currently watching the Beagles...I mean Eagles (that's Philadelphia's NFL team for the sports challanged) self-destruct in Green Bay. The only reason I am even aware of the action is because we have it on at work. For some reason I just can't get in to pro sports all that much. Basketball, yeah, I pay attention to that and I'm getting into hockey (Go Av's!). Just can't get into the pro football all that much. I'm the first to admit I only watch the Super Bowl for the commercials. Blasphemous for someone that works in the sports department at a newspaper.

Tonight I had the opportunity to do a pretty neat story. Sunday I was handed an obit story about a gentleman that lived in the southern part of the county. His family wanted to do the interview in person, not over the phone. Needless to say I was not that thrilled about the prospect of driving to Delta (the last town before the Maryland line) after a full day of work to do an obit story. It turned into an interesting evening with a very nice family that were more than willing (they gave me enough information to write a large story) to talk to me about their loved one. It's always nice whent the family wants to have a story done. They told me they considered it an honor that I wanted to do a story. I told them I was happy they were letting me. After I busted my tail to get back to the office and finish my story I was told the thing is going to be held to run Wednesday. Sigh. So goes the life of a newbie reporter.

Now it's home, put the beans out to soak and try to get some sleep. Mmmm...sleep.

**Postscript - The Beagles managed to pull a win from thin air and won 17-14.
