Hit me with your best shot

"Don't let one person get you down. I can't believe those a-holes didn't even give you a shot."

Good friend called Thursday afternoon while I was on my way to the Lobster to see how things went.

I told her. Being the amazingly wonderful person she is, she (again) said the one thing I needed to hear to pull myself out of this little whiney depressing funk.

"Don't let one person get you down. I know you can do this job. The heck with them. When you're writing 1A for the New York Times (or Boston Globe, ahem) they'll be sorry."

She may be on to something. I've started formulating a plan of attack. The hell with the papers around here. I'll suck it up. Go smaller. Get my start somewhere. Then it's on. Oh baby, is it on.

I've started getting job postings emailed to me. And the back to school thing. I'm getting there. It's going to take some sacrifice. Less going out on the weekends. Less buying of shoes. Just less spending in general. It may be tough, but I can do it.

Just like getting back on track with the whole gym thing. Two times a week isn't enough. It needs to be three, four even five times a week.

Bring it. Bring it on world. I'm ready. One little setback isn't going to get this girl down. Armed with my super big Sheetz coffee and a new mindset, I'm ready for anything you throw at me.

Bring. It. On.
