Free at last
*apologies to the great Martin Luther King, Jr.
"We're sending you home."
"What?!"
"Your pants are too long. Even though you hemmed them, they're still too long."
"You do realize I am 4'11", right? Do you know how hard it is for me to find pants that fit just right?"
"Doesn't matter. Your pants can not be that long."
*sigh and rolling eyes*
"If I go home, I'm not coming back."
And with that, my days at the Red Lobster were over. The above exchange happened at the beginning of my shift Wednesday night. After I had been there for over an hour. After I already had a table. After a manager had already checked me in as being fine.
No great loss for me. I now have free time again...or at least that's what I think it is. It's been so long I don't remember. The small loss of income is going to hurt a little, but I'll figure out what I'm going to dolater. No biggie. For now I'm just going to enjoy the fact that I can go to the gym at will or come home from work and actually get things accomplished before bedtime.
My room mates, being the sweet thoughtful guys they are, went out and bought me a celebration cake after I made it home. There are pictures of me with my cake. As soon as Room mate #1 emails them to me I'll post them.
So now I'm starting off my weekend a little lighter. Feeling a little better about life in general. Friend Brent is coming to visit for a few days and since I don't have to work (woo-hoo!) now, I can hang out as much. as. I. want.
Suddenly, I feel much more like myself.
