De ja vu all over again

As I have been doing some house cleaning here on the blog and in my email address (why would I keep emails from 3 years ago?!) I happened upon a few New Years related posts. Mostly they touch on the same topics, year after year: lose weight, find a boyfriend, go on a big trip, enjoy myself more, blah, blah, blah.

This year I haven't really thought about resolutions. Aside from my drunken reply Saturday night at a party of "Have more sex!" when I was asked what my resolution for this year was, the idea hadn't crossed my mind. Sure, I want to do all of the above, who doesn't? But this year, I think it's more about doing more than less.

More exercise.

More putting myself out there.

More taking risks both personally and professionally.

More just enjoying life as it is.

More of being myself, the heck with anyone who isn't down with that.

More forgiving myself for past mistakes and letting go of the regrets.

More contact with old friends. And new.

And most importantly, more of living life on my own terms. To quote the great Bon Jovi "It's my life, it's now or never. I ain't gonna live forever!"

Sweet moses, did I just quote John Bon Jovi? It's entirely possible I've been living in South Central Pennsyltucky for too long.

Bon Jovi! That's awesome! Try to keep your resolutions, even though it's tough. I never make them because I don't keep them. It's always the same ol' shit for me year in and year out...
