Come on Irene

O.k., o.k., it's really Come on Eileen, but since Will has been singing it this way for the past two days, that's how I have it in my head.

This is what is, to quote South Park "Coming right for us!"

Irene is expected to give us her worst over night tonight. It was raining pretty hard as we left New Jersey but the roads weren't nearly as bad as they were yesterday when traffic on the west bound side of the Sure Kill...I mean Schuylkill was backed up all the way from the PA Turnpike at Valley Forge to 676 then over The Ben Franklin bridge. You bet your bippy I was happy to be heading east instead of west for once.

I'm happy we are only going to have to worry about high winds and rain, unlike those at the New Jersey shores. We're not entirely out of the woods and I know Will is worried about his grandparents who live on the DelMarVa and are very hard to move off of their farm on the Wicomico for anything. Including a Class 1 or 2 hurricane. We haven't heard anything yet about if they were evacuated (their area was under an evac order) or not but more than likely Pop told anyone who tried to get him to leave to go take a long walk off a short pier.

For now, we're just hanging out, watching television and waiting for the worst of it to get to us. Oh and movies. Lots and lots of movies.

"Stripes" anyone?
