Last night. Let's recap the events of last night. I was so nervous I hardly ate all day. The last thing I ate was a handfull of oyster crackers. Real nutritious, huh? Jonda and I made it the rink around 7:15 so we would have time to get all of our gear on and try to calm the heck down. I must admit, it did help me knowing she was just as freaked out as I was. The tryout went...o.k. I was getting ticked off at myself because some of the drills we did were the very same ones we do on our home ice but it was almost like I had never skated before! It was very odd. I was slipping all over the place on the five circle drill (helps with cross overs, doing all five circles from one end of the rink to the other). Sigh. In my opinion I was not very impressive. There was a good steal during one of the defense vs. offense drills but I could have done better in the scrimmage. Taking out one of the coaches wasn't a good idea either. On the up side, next week after the practice/tryout they are making mixed drinks in the parking lot! Woo-hoo!
We're definitely on for the trip to Williamsburg in October. I'll just be happy to walk around the restored area and maybe take a trip out to Carter's Grove. History excites me. Like I told Bob one night, you get all beside yourself when it comes to the weather and I get the same way about history. I think that's why he likes to take these trips with me. I'm hearing the term "we" a lot more in his conversation about the two of us. Like the girl I am, I am probably way over analyzing it. He probably is just being literal. I'd like to think otherwise. I don't know. Guess I'll just have to chill out (although I've been doing that for the past 10 years) and see what happens. Lol, we already act like we're married according to our friend Anne. Who knows.
Speaking of Anne, here is a picture of Bob, Anne and Leslie from our trip to the Cabin. Leslie is the one in the middle, Anne on the right. Here is Pole's Steeple. Lol, that's Anne and I standing out on the edge. The panorama is much better, unfortunately those pictures didn't come out. Bugger.
I'm ready for this weekend. Being the wonderful friend I am, I agreed to let Erin come and do a Mary Kay session at the apartment Saturday. I told her the only way she would be allowed in the door was if she brought Addyson. There will only be a few people there but we should have a good time anyway. I'm hoping to talk her into hanging around for dinner afterwards. Even though she's only a little more than an hour away we don't see each other nearly enough. Sigh. One of the sucky parts of growing up I guess.
