Saturday was absolutely the most wonderful day I've had in a long time. I slept in until 9 a.m., got in a good 2mi run, did some errands, cleaned around the apartment and even managed to get started on a new book. So far it's pretty good. I was in the mood for some fluffy reading and this promises to satisfy that craving. Also picked up a new CD, Stereophonics Just Enough Education To Perform. Very good tunes. Another reason I am missing my computer, no access to my radio station. Blah.
Had a little bit of controversy at hockey last night. The league the team is in is supposed to be a rookie league, first timers and old guys only. The team we played last night was more along the lines of a C or B level team. I got rocked in the first period by a wicked cross check. There is a nice bruise on my chest to prove it, even though I was wearing all of my pads. After I got back to the bench Jonda made a comment about hitting me too high and I just said I'm short, anything is going to be too high on me. I got even later on when I tripped the guy. Luckily I didn't get called for it. We lost 5-2 then some of us went to a local beer and pizza place to gripe about the game. I had a good time hanging out with the guys but woo boy are some of them young! I nearly fell over when I heard how old the one guy said he was. Let's just say outside of the range.
Room mate Marti returns today and so ends my peace and quiet. I've really been thinking about moving out on my own. I'm starting to get to the point where I am actually coming out with some dinero at the end of the month. The extra could be put toward an apartment by myself. Even better, toward my trip in two years. Yeah, that sounds like a better idea anyway. I'll put the extra into my Ireland trip fund. Maybe if I save up enough, I can make it a one way trip.
