"It's sucking my will to live"

We're in the middle of a heatwave here in Pennsyltucky. And I think I can feel my brain oozing out of my ears. There was some reliefe in the form of a few thunderstorms the other day but seriously folks, no offense but Summer sucks.

No, really, it does.

Today is a rare day off. Originally I thought The New Prospect and I would get to go out...but he won't return my phone call or email (it's been about 3 days now) so I say the heck with him. And now, well, now I've got time on my hands. Time that could be well spent finishing my laundry or going for a training run. But I'm not excited enough by either of those things right now. The laundry can wait (I have a enough clean clothes to get me through to Sunday). The training run, well, probably later when the sun goes down a little bit.

Right now all I want to do is nap. As Former Room mate used to put it "I feel nappish".

It's almost like the lack of excitement mixed with the never ending heat has just completely drained me of any ambition to do anything. Considering my lack of funds right now (just forced to get new brakes on my car to the tune of $300) my options are limited, at best.

Oh, I know I should just enjoy my free time and quit my bitching. Really, how often do nights like this happen? Not bloody often, that's for damn sure. But for some reason I can't. I just want to curl up in bed and dream of days spent on the beach with a frosty drink in my hand and endless posibilities...not stuck here. In Pennsyltucky. With no prospects in love or life.

*bonus points for the person who can name the movie I copped the quote from in the heading.

Woo-hoo! You're spot on Kate :) I love that movie, brings back so many good memories of college.

Sorry Mr. H! Miss Kate didn't win any of the stuff you mentioned but if she provides her address, she'll be the proud owner of some homebaked cookies fresh from South Central Pennsyltucky.
