See what happens when I take a few days off? No posts, no computer time and more gym time...uh, never mind, that's not such a bad thing I guess.

The birthday week extravaganza is winding it's way down to a not so quiet end. Most of my time has been spent visiting old friends, cleaning the house or traveling here
and there. Yesterday was the best day of the entire week (and my actual birthday) as friend Abbey and new friends Phyllis, Brian and I traveled to the Big Apple to catch a taping of The Daily Show. The weather was perfect as we stood outside for almost 3 hours waiting to get in, making friends with the people standing around us. Who says New Yorkers aren't friendly? Fuggedaboutit. Once we were inside the studio (which is alot smaller in person) John Stewart himself came out, warmed up the crowd, took questions and even stopped long enough to wish me...little old ME...a happy birthday. After the taping we trooped over to 9th Ave., had an amazing dinner at Rennaisance (definitely recommend it if you're heading to NYC any time soon. It's just below 52nd on 9th Ave.) before heading back on the train to Newark and Phyllis' car.

I've had some pretty eventful birthday's over the last couple of years but this one, well, this one definitely ranks at the top of my list. Who else can say John Stewart personally wished them a happy birthday?! Oh, and yes, he is just as short in person as everyone says he is.

Tonight I'm off to Lyzz's house for dinner and wine. A slightly more low key end to my week, but just as important as it will be some good time spent with one of my dearest and best friends.

One last thing before I head off to the basement to finish my laundry, a big THANK YOU to everyone who sent me birthday good wishes yesterday and today. You guys and girls are the best...now I'm getting all verklempt...I love you man!
