Boo fricking hoo

I'm have a woe is me day.

Partly it can be blamed on some serious PMS, which usually makes me good for one major crying jag a month anyway. I wasn't even aware TOM was approaching until last night when I was sitting on my couch trying to not to cry as I told Will that my car had needed a jump at work and I just barely made it home.

And that's the other cause of my woe is me day. The car. My poor Saturn, which has almost 132,000 miles on it is slowly come to the end of its life and unfortunately, my finances just will not allow a new car. I was hoping I could continue to baby it along for another year while I saved money for a down payment. There are other financial obligations I have that I'm trying to get paid off (the bill from my kidney stone incident in January, credit card, etc) at the same time and there is NO room in my tiny budget for another monthly pay out. Sigh. As I type this I'm waiting for one of my neighbors to move his car so my friend Julie, who luckily lives in the apartment complex, can give me a jump to get to the garage. I attempted to start my car this morning and in the deafening silence after I turned the key, I think I heard it laugh at me.

The bright spot in all of this is my supervisors at the new job have been very understanding about the whole thing and have given me the whole day off and tomorrow, just in case. I was originally supposed to have a 1/2 day today anyway, but when I called in to say I wasn't going to make it my supervisor told me he'd use 1/2 a personal day for the time I was supposed to work and give me tomorrow as a precaution. At the last full time, that would have been unheard of! What?! There's a stake in your foot and your car won't start?! We'll see you in 45 minutes.

Now, I'm wondering if it's too early to open up one of the bottles of wine...

Isn't it amazing how things can turn around in such a short period of time :-)

Congrats again!
